  I do know one CO in England who had a bit of a reputation in his younger days for 'sailing close to the wind' as far as his conduct with members of the opposite sex was concerned. I always took this to mean that he got away with quite a bit of naughtiness because he is a rather large personality and well-respected - he probably managed to avert disfellowshipping somehow

  Slim ,im certain i know exactly who you are talking about.J had a very larger than life personality and a serious eye for the ladies.J always insisted on working with younger Pioneer sisters in our area never the brothers.

  I often wondered if he got into trouble in his youth.

  I came home to find my wife crying over THAT article.

  i came home today to find my wife crying whilst reading the 'when a loved one leaves jehovah' article.

  its been a good few months now and i can appreciate how she feels.

  but it just irritates me how my disagreeing with this religion has such a catastrophic effect on our everyday lives.

  Personally I hope my parents do have miserable bloody lives and get upset lots and lots! They have given me hours of grief - they deserve it back. Yes thats you mum and dad and especially you DAD because you are not stupid and you should have seen through this whole scam!

  Blimey crumpet..substitute the word dad for Mum and thats my opinion of my parents too.They thought when i left they could try the emotional card etc(ussually using articles such as this shitty 1 in the thread) ..then just got plain nasty with me.Why do JW,s think they can say the most evil,hurtful things?

  My eyes finally opened and i cut them off about 2 years ago.They ring ..i curtly hang up.They see me at Sainsburys ,i walk in an opposite direction.They are nothing to me.Nothing.I will never want anything to do with them and will not attend their funerals when they die ..and die they will.

  we posted about an announcement it was only local to our cong.

  however we have found out that there is going to be an announcement sometime in september and it is supposed to be shocking.

  i think there are plenty of active Elders on this site who would have given a "heads up"about this so called shocking announcement.

  Bit daft making arrangements for next years conventions though.......

  Must admit i do still get a small chill when i read stuff like this though..damn religion..how long before i can just laugh at this sort of nonsense without first having a bad feeling.

  i auxilary pioneered for a year, then i regular pioneered for 2 years while serving as a ministerial servant.

  then i served at bethel for 3 years.

  while at bethel i worked harder then i have my hole life.

  Lol..yep it really is that simple when you think about it.The arrogance that fat slobby Elders will be "princes"in the new system really does take the breath away.

  Any Armageddon will ,depressingly,be totally man made imo.

  i attended two days of the dc.

  the only three points that i took home with me is that the end is near, higher education is a no no, and that the brothers have a problem with pornography.

  i was in amazement at the number of witnesses that take notes as fast as the speaker is talking.
